Patios & Hardscapes

Engineered patios and hardscapes built to handle Northern Virginia freeze–
thaw, clay soil, and a few decades of family cookouts.

Patios & Hardscapes

A patio is a structural project, not a decoration. We dig real bases, compact in lifts, set proper drainage, and install pavers and stone the right way the first time — so you’re not chasing settling, weeds, or pooling water two years from now. Every patio we build is engineered for Northern Virginia’s clay-heavy soils and brutal freeze–thaw cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long does a paver patio last in Northern Virginia?
A: A properly built patio with a compacted aggregate base, edge restraints, and polymeric sand will last 25+ years in NoVA conditions.
A: Pavers handle freeze–thaw better than poured concrete and can be repaired one stone at a time. Concrete is cheaper up front but tends to crack in NoVA clay within 5–10 years.
Q: Do I need a permit for a patio in Loudoun or Fairfax?
A: Yes — we lift, re-base, and reset patios all the time, especially ones installed without a real compacted base.
A: Most residential patios take 4–8 working days from excavation to clean-up.
